When you wake up in the morning and your eyelids are Frozen And all around your body your lovers lie broken Ah don’t despair Tomorrow may bring roses Don’t despair Tomorrow may bring love So you run to the mirror in search of a reason But the ice upon your eyelids only remind you of the Season Ah don’t despair Tomorrow may bring roses Don’t despair Tomorrow may bring love So you go to the window in search of a sign But the driving wind lights only serve to leave you blind Ah don’t despair Tomorrow may bring roses Don’t despair Tomorrow may bring love So when you wake up in the morning and your eyelids are Frozen And all around your body your lovers lie broken Ah don’t despair Tomorrow may bring roses Don’t despair Tomorrow may bring love

I have sailed the deep rivers Paid for passage round Through the springs and the summers And with snow blowing down Through the aching and the breaking And waters tumbling on Will you find me Where you left me Can you bring my mind back now its gone Yes, yes Make the answer yes Yes I have sword with the evening I paid with my song For its coming and leaving So it bore me along Through the loveless and the lightless And through nights which can bring a more pain Can you see me can you hear me can you bring the light back again Yes, yes Make the answer yes Yes Give you all of my living give you all of my gold Take the memories for keeping can you bring back my soul From the east wind and the west wind I told them to take it away for the being and the seeing Can you bring it back make it stay Yes, yes Make the answer yes Yes Yes, yes Make the answer yes Yes

And all my stakes are mist around some distant harbor And all your love some girl above the desert And the miles like wails of time will open wide as long windows of rain come crashing to our feet again And colored panes will splash the sky within this hour And days of matching seasons that come drifting by And the miles like wails of time will open wide as long windows of rain come crashing to our feet again And the contrasts of all our lives come to their ending And all the pain erased by ghosts devoid of senses And the miles wails of time will open wide as long windows of rain come crashing to our feet again For all my stakes are mist around some distant harbor And all your love some girl above the desert And the miles like wails of time will open wide as long windows of rain come crashing to our feet again And the miles like wails of time will open wide as long windows of rain come crashing to our feet again

You have with gentle fingers Untangled the brambled pathways of my mind And shown me a clear road that I could follow to some peace To some peace But I have nothing beautiful to give No I have nothing beautiful to give I have nothing beautiful to give you You have with weary arms enclosed me in your warmth And I have rested there in happiness In happiness uneasy, uneasy But I have nothing beautiful to give No I have nothing beautiful to give I have nothing beautiful to give you Your smiles have shown me the good way to laugh And your living has taught me how not to die How not to die But I have nothing beautiful to give No I have nothing beautiful to give I have nothing beautiful to give you And in return I give you my small gifts The words I’m owned from love and sunlight And the song my body sings when I am with you When I am with you Still I have nothing beautiful to give No I have nothing beautiful to give I have nothing beautiful to give you

Good morning blues Well I see you’ve come Good morning blues Yes, I’ve been on the run Good morning blues Well now I’m all undone You can give my mind to the rag-man Good morning love Can I fit your skin? Good morning love No, I’m not what I seem Take morning love Don’t nail yourself to a dream And I’ve knelt down before Life gives no protection It’s a hard-knocked school If you don’t know your direction Well there’s no rule To make the connection Ah you better play the fool And I’ve played one far too long Good morning blues I can’t drive you away, yes Good morning blues Well you’re here to stay, ah yes Good morning blues Well now what’s the delay? You can give my mind to the rag-man Life gives no protection It’s a hard-knock school And if you don’t know your direction Well there’s no room To make the connection well Ah you better play the fool And I’ve played one far too long Good morning blues I can’t drive you away, yes Good morning blues Well you’re here to stay, ah yes Good morning blues Well now what’s the delay? You can give my mind to the rag-man

Durocher 04:49
When I wake up in the morning Pilled and lines My hands upon the pillow Are still clutching And upon my eyes seem to break the blackest dawn So when I hear your words, babe Then I know what’s coming on For your laughter keeps flowin’ For your laughter keeps flowin’ all over me Sometimes I get to thinking what’s the use of going on? What’s the use of loving? When hatred is so strong All is empty Silence only weak So when I see your smile, babe I continue to see For your laughter keeps flowin’ For your laughter keeps flowin’ all over me If I’m waiting for the answers To end the hurting and the pain All the roads I’ve taken Then they’re just the same My life is a reflection of a confusion all about So when I see your face, babe Just breaks half the doubt For your laughter keeps flowin’ For your laughter keeps flowin’ all over me

Northwind 03:25
The northwind is sitting at my bedside And I can feel upon my face its fingers of crystal lace Lord the northwind is lying down beside me And upon its icy breath are kisses of certain death Singing come to me Singing come to me Lover you know you’ve got get here Evil is behind come drive from my mind The northwind Somewhere the lovers are enfolding Deep within their transfixed eyes a winter lover dormant lies Lord waiting to comfort in their parting To bring a fine end to pain reveal the loss obscure the gain Singing come to me Singing come to me Lover you know you’ve got get here How much longer can I fight the caresses in the night of The northwind The northwind is sitting at my bedside And I can feel upon my face its fingers of crystal lace Lord the northwind is lying down beside me And upon its icy breath are kisses of certain death Singing come to me Singing come to me Lover you know you’ve hot get here Evil is behind come drive from my mind The northwind The northwind

Swords of gold cut the afternoon There’s a lone cry occasionally The sun was shining along the steep edge of my bed The covers are all undone but nobody lies in them Waiting to be warmed, waiting to be warmed And the floor is covered with sprawled suitcases, and sealed cardboard boxes Floor is freshly waxed But the cases, and the boxes, are not yet unpacked And I can no longer tell whether I am about to stay or to depart again Depart again Depart again

He went on to study classical music and then after a few years of concertizing he suddenly felt called to write music that would weave all the different musical cultures he had come to love. ... more
